Fathead Minnows

Lunch for larger fish. Before stocking bass or game fish, be sure to establish a good population of forage fish. You may also need to restock an older pond if your predator fish are not growing. Often stalled growth means the supply of forage fish has depleted or reduced to the point that it can not support additional fish growth. On the average it takes 3 pounds of forage fish to grow a one pound largemouth bass. One pound of fathead minnow averages 250-300 fish.



Due to the large number of fish per pound and the higher demand for oxygen we have been most successful when shipping less than three pounds per box. We always add extra minnows to offset any shipping loss. If you would like to order a larger quanity of fathead minnows we can ship using additional boxes. As always you can pick up the order at our Aquafarm.
